Assault Outside Waitakere District Court

Waitakere CIB is investigating an incident in West Auckland after a male was
assaulted outside the Waitakere District Court on Ratanui Street in
Henderson.

At about 3.00pm on the 16th of February 2010 a 21 year old male victim was
outside the court when he received a single punch to the head. The victim was
transported to Auckland Hospital by ambulance with head injuries. He is in a
critical condition.

A 19 year old male has been arrested and will appear at the Waitakere
District Court today charged with Common Assault. Police are not ruling out
the possibility of further charges.

Any one who witnessed the assault is urged to call Police with information.
