New Zealand’s Only Water Theme Park Opens with a Splash
Splash Planet opens this week for the 2010/2011 Summer Season to the sounds of the Tip Top Popsicle Band, air-guitar competitions and the happy screams of children plummeting down the Master Blaster.
The gates open today (Monday, Nov 15) with the season officially kicking off this weekend at the Splash Planet Tip Top Pool Party on Saturday, November 20 – featuring the Popsicle Band, extreme face-painting, competitions, like air-guitar, and free giveaways.
Splash Planet manager Peran Hutchings says locals have been eagerly awaiting the opening with almost 1000 people having joined Splash Planet’s facebook page already.
“This week is set to be a scorcher so we’re looking forward to a fantastic start to the season,” Mr Hutchings says.
The Splash Planet Facebook Freebie competition gives school classes the chance to win an end-of-year trip to Splash Planet. All classes have to do is become a friend of the www.facebook.com/splashplanetnz page, write their school’s name and class on the Facebook wall and then get as many friends, parents and teachers to “like” their comment as possible.
The class with the most “likes” wins a whole day at Splash Planet, with the winning class being announced on Facebook on Monday, November 29. Remember: Under 13-year-old need to get parents or teachers to vote on their behalf
Not only is Splash Planet right in our own backyard but
Hawke’s Bay residents get a serious discount of 50% with
the Splash Planet Club Card. For $12 residents
can buy a card which will get up to 10 people in a day with
the locals’ discount. Every letterbox in Hawke’s Bay got
a form last week, one can be downloaded at www.splashplanet.co.nz or pick one up at
the park and bring proof of address to become a member.
A Whole Day’s Fun: Get wet on the
Master Blaster, the speedy Sky Castle Screamer, the dark and
eerie Sky Tunnel, the Super Cruiser, the relaxing Never
Ending River, bumper boats, indoor heated pools, kayaks, the
