Carters Kids Gone Fishin Event
Good Kids Go Fishing!
On Saturday 27th November from 10.30am with prize giving at 1.00pm at the Tauranga Bridge Marina (Mount side) there will be a great day of fishing and fun with Carters Kids Gone Fishing.
National fishing icon Graeme Sinclair will be on hand to sign autographs and give out fishing tips.
Carters Kids Gone Fishing events are a series of nationwide events based around fishing and outdoor activities. The aim is to give kids a day of fun and to encourage parents to spend quality time with their kids in healthy outdoor activities. The events are organised and run by the New Zealand Police Blue Light association with the local Carters branches, the Gone Fishing Team and other local sponsors.
Blue Light and the local Carters branches
provide a range of tailored fishing events which give young
people the opportunity to realize their potential. The
events;
• Model positive behaviour and provide
appropriate role models
• Establish good communication
links between the police and young people
• Involve
families, schools and communities
•
The philosophy
behind these events is to offer positive alternatives to
poor behaviour, through which people can avoid putting
themselves at risk of becoming an offender of
victim.
There is no charge for this event, plus thanks to Carters sponsorship there will be free sausage sizzle, drinks, and heaps of spot prizes.
Registration can be done on the day at the event or by picking up a registration form from the Tauranga or Mt Maunganui Carters branches or Durham Street Police Station.
