Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars! is a talent contest for primary school aged children. Any style of performance is acceptable. The competition raises funds for local schools – every performance earns the performers' school a donation of $10, plus the overall winner's school from each event receives a $100 cash first prize as well. Winners also receive prize packages on the day, donated by local businesses and shops.

Only primary schools within each fair suburb are eligible for the performer donations and first prize. However, any performer can compete, no matter where they are from. There is a cap of 20 performers, or $200, on the number of performance donations any one school can receive. The first prize donations are in addition to this limit.

Judges include adult performers from each fair, local performance school instructors, fair sponsors, and other VIPs. Stage, sound system, and stage staff are provided at each event.

Twinkle Twinkle will take place at various community festivals this summer, including:
Whitby Village Fair, Saturday 4 December
Karori Fair Day, Saturday 11 December
Khandallah Village Fair, Sunday 12 December
350 Birdman, Taranaki St Wharf, Sunday 23 January
Kilbirnie Festival, Sunday 13 March

Heats will be from 12 noon until 1.30pm, with finals at 1.30pm. If extra time is required for heats, late registrations will start prior to 12 noon. Entry forms are available from the Twinkle Twinkle website, as below, and linked from each of the events' websites.

The exception to the above times will be the 350 Birdman event, held on Taranaki St Wharf, Wellington's Waterfront, where all childrens' activities will take place from 10am, and will include a junior Birdman competition jumping into the harbour from a water-level platform. Performer and prize donations at this event are made to the participant charities.
