Shotover Jet Collision - Tuckers Beach, Queenstown
At about 15.10hrs this afternoon, emergency services responded to a Jet Boat Collision on the Shotover River in the vicinity of Tuckers Beach, Lower Shotover, Queenstown.
The incident involved a single Shotover Jet Boat containing 14 passengers and driver.
The passengers were from Germany, America, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
The jet boat collided with a rock face resulting in damage to the engine and rear of the boat.
5 passengers were transferred to Queenstown Lakes District Hospital by ambulance for assessment of minor neck and back injuries, the 9 remaining passengers were transferred to the Shotover Jet operating base.
The matter has been referred to Maritime New Zealand and OSH to investigate the cause of the incident.
