Linwood will be on the lookout for some
double front flips and double backflips from some of the
finest local rippers as the X-games get underway there this
Sunday.
A mobile skate park will be added to existing
facilities at Linwood Skate Park and a BMX competition will
also feature at the event. Participants can take part in
inline skating, skateboarding, BMX freestyle
competitions.
“There’s $700 worth of prizes up for
grabs, the Skate Skool team will be there to help you get
rolling with gear hire available, our mobile skate park will
be there to give the park a temporary face-lift, and we’re
putting on a free BBQ thanks to Hellers and the Edge!”
says Scotty Buckner, Cheapskates Skate Skool Head
Instructor. “This is as close to the real X-Games as you
can get!”
Funded by the Hagley/Ferrymead Community
Board, the Linwood X Games promotes active participation in
sport in partnership with Cheapskates Skate Skool, Sport
Canterbury and Sparc. There will be free inline skate and
skateboard hire, tricks tips, skate and BMX demos,
giveaways, competitions and great
prizes.
