John Walker to Chair Coromandel-Colville Community Board

Kim Brett appointed Deputy

Coromandel-Colville Community Board members John Walker and Kim Brett were elected Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson respectively at the first meeting of the new Board.

Thames-Coromandel District Mayor Glenn Leach congratulated Board Members on their appointment and took declarations from each member, after which Thames-Coromandel District Council (TCDC) Chief Executive Steve Ruru provided the new Board members with an explanation of statutory requirements and information about the Local Government Act.

Board Chair John Walker thanked the members for their support and spoke of his aspirations for the new Community Board and enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with members and staff over the next three years on behalf of the Coromandel-Colville area.


Coromandel-Colville Community Board assigns portfolios

Coromandel Citizens Hall Committee confirmed as a formal committee

Coromandel-Colville Community Board confirmed the Coromandel Citizens Hall Committee as a Committee of the Community Board and assigned portfolios at its inaugural meeting in November.

Anne Ward was assigned the Coromandel Library portfolio; Keith Stephenson received the Parks & Reserves and Department of Conservation Pest Eradication portfolios and shares the Coromandel Sports Domain and Citizens Hall portfolios with Chair John Walker.

John Walker and Kim Brett were delegated authority to comment on non-notified resource consents, new leases and renewals of leases on behalf of the Board.
