Multiple Stabbings - Further Charges

Waitakere Police have arrested a second man during their ongoing investigations into a multiple stabbings incident at a Henderson address on Saturday night.

Six adults received serious wounds in the “bloodied” incident which occurred at an address in Kingdale Road Henderson. Three were admitted to Auckland Hospital and three to North Shore Hospital.

A 29 year old male was arrested yesterday soon after his release from hospital.

He will appear in the Waitakere District Court today on three charges including one of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. This charge carries a maximum penalty of fourteen years imprisonment.

A 56 year old man appeared in Waitakere District Court yesterday on a charge of assault as a result of his alleged role in the incident. Kai Meng PENG has been remanded in custody to 29 December 2010. No plea was entered. Four adults remain in hospital.

Two adults whose condition was previously life threatening have since been transferred to Middlemore Hospital for specialist plastic surgery. Their condition is stable. The two remaining adults are expected to be discharged later today.

Police investigations continue. Police are yet to speak fully with all the injured.
