13 Year-old Killed in Crash

A 13 year old local youth was killed this morning when a Subaru station wagon crashed through several fences in Winsford Street and Fairlight Place, Manurewa.
Four other occupants ran from the vehicle after the crash which occurred just after 7.00am.
Serious crash investigators believe but cannot yet confirm that the dead youth was driving the car.
Staff at the scene report that the damage caused when the vehicle left the road covers a distance of nearly 100m and that speed was obviously a factor in the crash.
Police have located and are speaking to a number of people who are believed to have been in the vehicle when it crashed and are attempting to contact the registered owner of the vehicle to see if the youths had permission to be driving it.
