Lakes Leisure Gives Teenagers the Reins this Christmas

15 December 2010

Teens have been given the opportunity to voice their opinion on the direction that they’d like to see Lakes Leisure go in the future. As part of a month long competition, Lakes Leisure is welcoming feedback from local teenagers by throwing open the doors to future programme ideas. This competition is in keeping with Lakes Leisure’s mission to provide services to as broad a range of community groups as possible.

Lakes Leisure works hard to provide a range of leisure, sport and recreation opportunities to the wider community by continually working with them to develop new and innovative activities. Alana Talbot, Lakes Leisure’s Recreation Coordinator said that having already established some great programs for sports users, the elderly, the overweight and a women-only program; Lakes Leisure now wants to focus on what teenagers would like.

“Having run programs for teenagers in the past, we’ve already got quite a few ideas about the activities we’d like to develop but the world is constantly evolving, especially if you’re a teenager, which is why it’s important for us to go straight to the source to get the feedback that we need,” Alana said.

Anyone aged between 12 and 18 years can enter the competition until 14 January 2011. Anything and everything will be considered! All entries will go in the draw to win $50 worth of iTunes vouchers. The winning entry will see their idea turned into reality and receive $100 worth of iTunes vouchers and a pair of Skull Candy headphones worth $50.
