Holiday road toll now 8 following Opotiki crash

Following a fatal crash in the Opotiki area late this afternoon, the holiday road toll now stands at eight.

The crash, in which one person died, occurred at approximately 5pm between two cars on Waiotahi Beach Road.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if at all possible and exercise patience in the vicinity of the crash.
