Wild Wellington Mountain Bike Relay

Wild Wellington Mountain Bike Relay

Dust off your bikes and your fancy dress costumes and enter the 4th Wild Wellington Mountain Bike team relay taking place at Mount Victoria, Wellington, in February.

It is all about everyone having fun, says event organiser Jill Ford.

“There will be teams taking part in all kinds of fancy dress, with great tracks and something for everyone. As well as easier grade tracks for kids,” she says.

Over 700 hundred riders are expected to turn up to the only 12-hour mountain bike relay event of this sort in the Wellington region.

There is approximately 6km of single and wide track to sample, with an awesome new zig-zag downhill this year.

Prizes will be awarded for the best and wildest team outfits, along with the most wicked team site.

Medal awards will be for the fittest and fastest teams, with teams having the possibility of knocking time off their laps by taking part in some wacky challenges.

Everyone entered will be placed into the draw to win a brand new $3000 Avanti Torrent Full suspension Mountain Bike.

“So unleash your wild side and enter, ‘Wild Wellie’ is about having a wild ride, wild fun and wild outfits,” says Jill.
