Further BP Stations reopen after earthquake

BP Oil New Zealand advises that the majority of its Christchurch service stations have reopened.

After yesterday’s magnitude 6.3 earthquake, BP’s stations in the region were shut as a precaution following the loss of power and the need of staff to look after their families.

BP NZ Managing Director Mike McGuinness said the company had been working since the quake to get stations back up and running.

“We are now assured that the majority of our stations are safe to operate and they have reopened. It is still a delicate situation and we must be prepared for this to change without notice.”

“We thank our staff who are returning to work. It has been a traumatic experience and their willingness to lend a hand to help others is heart-warming”.

The following BP stores have reopened and are trading. (This is subject to change without notice given the changeable situation following the quake.)

Woodend Service Station, BP 2go Halswell, BP Connect Rolleston, BP Connect Bush Inn, BP Connect Fendalton, BP 2go Sockburn, BP Papanui, BP Westburn, Sawyers Arms BP

BP 2go Ashburton – only open to Emergency Services at present

BP 2go West Melton - only open to Emergency Services at present
