Changes to rubbish and recycling collections over Easter

Auckland Council is advising residents that no council rubbish, recycling and paper collections will occur in the region on Good Friday (22 April) or Easter Monday/ANZAC Day (25 April).

Those collections have been rescheduled to occur a day later, on Saturday 23 April and Tuesday 26 April respectively. Collections for the rest of the week have also been rescheduled to occur a day later, with the usual collection schedule resuming on Monday 2 May.

Auckland Council’s Solid Waste Business Unit Manager Jon Roscoe says this is a change for residents in the North Shore and parts of West Auckland that previously did not have collection changes over Easter.

“With one council for the whole region we have been able to achieve consistency across Auckland with Easter rubbish and recycling collections this year,” Mr Roscoe explains.

Residents are reminded that on their new council collection date over this period rubbish bins and bags should be placed kerbside by 7am as usual, along with recycling wheelie bins if they are due to be emptied.

Residents with private collection services should contact their supplier(s) directly to obtain those providers’ Easter collection dates.
