For your information here is a short update on status on work and developments at the Hunua 4 project site in Onehunga as at 11am this morning.

Following the successful completion of preparation work last night the new piece of pipe was connected late last night.

Watercare expects to start filling the pipe with water today as a first step towards making it ready for use later this week.

As advised yesterday Mark Ford, Watercare's Chief Executive, will be available to answer questions at a media briefing today at 4.30 pm at Quality Hotel Barrycourt at 10-20 Gladstone Road, Parnell.

If you blinked on a recent Friday afternoon, you might have missed the passing under urgency of the first reading of the Regulatory Standards Bill. The Bill purports to be a kind of legislative WOF test that all of us should welcome, right? Not really. Instead, shouldn’t we all be feeling a bit worried by the fact that – if this Bill gets passed – then nearly all of our existing laws and nearly everything that future governments might want to do will henceforth need to be vetted by ACT Party leader Davd Seymour and the members of his hand-picked, un-elected Regulatory Standards Board?
