Four arrested after alleged Wellington crime spree
Four arrested in connection to last month's alleged crime spree across Wellington
Police have arrested four people in connection to last month's crime spree which included an arson attack on the Karori Police Base.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Dunn of the Wellington CIB says three men, aged 25, 28 and 43 years and a woman aged 51 are expected to face a variety of charges in relation to a series of alleged offending late last month and included burglaries of commercial premises, car thefts, arsons and a ram raid.
"At the time of these alleged incidents, we said we were taking a zero tolerance approach to this type of anti-social behaviour and we meant it. Police have been actively investigating this string of offending and today a number of detectives were involved in executing search warrants in Newlands and Miramar."
Acting D/S/S Dunn says a large amount of stolen property has been recovered at both of these addresses and further enquiries are now underway.
All four arrested will be appearing in the Wellington District Court this afternoon. Further arrests and charges are likely.
