Mother of baby buried in Otahuhu backyard
charged with murder

Police have progressed the investigation into the the death
of a newborn baby which was found in a makeshift grave at an
Otahuhu address on 2 June 2011.
Detective Inspector Dave
Lynch says "As a result, the 22 year-old mother of the
child, currently facing a charge of assault, will face
further charges of murder and concealing the child's
remains."
"She will be appearing at the Manukau District
Court tomorrow, 5 August 2011."
