Council facilities

Christchurch City Council Sport and Recreation Centres, libraries and other community facilities were closed today except for the Council's Service Centres in Akaroa and Little River. The Council will continue to assess the situation and will advise when facilities are able to re-open.

Kerbside collection

Kerbside collection went ahead today in Akaroa.

Kerbside collection in the city is expected to start tomorrow morning, but is dependant on weather conditions overnight. Residents are advised to leave their wheelie bins at the kerbside and they will be collected as soon as possible. If bins have not been collected by next Monday, please contact the Council's Customer Call Centre on: 03 941 8999 or 0800 800 169.

Roads

Arterial roads are now clear of snow. Gebbies Pass and Dyers Pass Road are now open. However, this may change depending on weather conditions overnight.
