Summary draft Plan to be delivered to Central City this week

Summary draft Plan to be delivered to Central City this week

Properties within Christchurch’s four avenues will receive their copy of the draft Central City Plan summary this Friday (2 September).

The City Council was advised late last week that the summary of the draft Plan had not been delivered to residents within the four avenues.

Council Strategy and Planning General Manager Mike Theelen said a distribution company was contracted to deliver the summary document throughout the city, however, their normal distribution areas had changed and no longer included the four avenues.

“This was an unfortunate oversight by Council and I apologise. Council is getting additional copies of the summary printed and these will be delivered to all residents within the four avenues this Friday.”

Mr Theelen said there had been extensive media coverage and publicity about the release of the draft Central City Plan for comment and residents had been able to access the draft Plan online, at the roadshows and through Council facilities.

“The roadshow will be based at the Christchurch Events Village in Hagley Park from next Monday (5 September) and I encourage Central City residents to come along and find out more about the draft Plan, meet the planners and tell us what they think.”
