The ‘Nappy Lady’ Whirlwind 2012 Tour

The ‘Nappy Lady’ Whirlwind 2012 Tour

Dunedin (Monday, 2 April 2012) – This year, during Cloth Nappy Week the Nappy Lady, Kate Meads, is leading a whirlwind nine-day, 20-stop road trip to spread the word about cloth nappies all over the country.

The Nappy Lady, Kate Meads, and a group of mums and sustainable parenting advocates are travelling 2,100km, from Invercargill to Auckland – the distance covered by seven million disposable nappies laid end-to-end, which, according to Zero Waste New Zealand, is the number of disposable nappies thrown into New Zealand landfills each week.

With the support of councils nationwide and business sponsorship, including cloth nappy retailers, Kate is hosting coffee groups and workshops in 20 locations. She will also be giving away $40,000 in prizes, including 700 cloth nappies, at stops along the way.
