Road Closure

Police advise that SH28 in the Kaimai Ranges is currently closed both north and south bound.

This is to enable the retrieval of a truck and debry.

The closure is at the intersection of SH28/SH29 and at SH28 and Te Poi South Road.

Motorists travelling towards Tauranga will therefore be diverted on Te Poi South Road up to SH29.

Motorists travelling from Tauranga to Putararu will remain on SH29 and then turn left into Te Poi South Road.

The recovery is expected to take 1 hour and Police will advise when the road is re opened

The “Bash the Rich” messaging may have all but passed its use-by date, given that is coming from people seen to be relatively privileged. To win over its populist antagonists, the centre left needs a change that more closely aligns with populist sentiment, without simply following along behind it. Such a change is easier said than imagined, let alone done.
