Community Meeting To Address Makauri Drainage
Community Meeting To Address Makauri Drainage
Concerns about drainage at Makauri, bought up at a community meeting with Gisborne District Council last month, will be back on the agenda next week. Council is holding a follow up meeting to discuss what can be done to address the problems before Council’s 2012-2022 Ten Year Plan is adopted in June.
We are going to the meeting to listen to residents concern’s and look at what we can do to address them, says Engineering and Works Group Manager Peter Higgs.
“Some people who raised issues at the meeting on 16 April required more information. This time we will have large scale plans so we can mark up the exact areas where residents say problems are occurring.”
“We will have details about what work we have done recently and what we plan to do to do. We need resident’s feedback before our 2012-2022 Ten Year Plan is adopted in June.”
Roading staff will also attend to listen to concerns and discuss road construction methods and road height.
All Makauri residents and ratepayers, particularly those who have flooding issues, are welcome to come along.
The meeting will be held in the Makauri School Hall on Monday 21 May at 5.30pm.
