Hamilton Police are working to establish the circumstances around a man suffering stab wounds after an incident at an address in Fairview Downs overnight.

Detective Sergeant Daryl Smith of the Hamilton Police said the investigation was in its early stages however what Police can confirm is that a man suffered moderate stab wounds to his legs and is currently in Waikato Hospital following an incident at 1.15am this morning at a Betley Crescent address.

We are speaking with the victim and are seeking witnesses or anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Betley Crescent area overnight to Contact Police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mr Smith at the Hamilton Central Police station on 07 858 6200.
