No injuries in Morrinsville school bus crash

Eastern Waikato Police say a bus involved in a non-injury crash near Morrinsville this morning should be recovered from a ditch where it came to rest shortly.

Matamata-Piako Sub-Area Manager, Senior Sergeant Rod Carpinter, said the crash happened about 8am on SH26, west of Morrinsville.

"Conditions were wet at the time and the bus was carrying 21 high school students from Te Aroha and Morrinsville into Hamilton when it left the road near the Piako Railway Line and came to rest in a ditch.

"Fortunately no-one was injured in the incident and the bus will be removed shortly by a recovery vehicle called in from Hamilton. The matter will now be subject to an investigation by the Commercial Vehicle Investigation Unit."
