Police seek missing person in Hamilton

At about 8pm on the evening of Wednesday 15 August 2012, a female jogging across the Fairfield Bridge in Hamilton saw a person in the Waikato River, who appeared to be in distress.

The jogger called emergency services from a nearby address.

Fire Service, St John Ambulance and Police staff have combed the river banks in the area.
The Police boat was launched and searched the river.

The search was suspended at 10pm after fog restricted visibility on the river.

The person in the river was described as a young male wearing clothes with black sleeves.

Police are seeking information in relation to this incident.
Anyone with information is asked to phone the Hamilton Central Police Station on (07)858.6200.
