Te Moana a
Toi (Bay of Plenty) Regional Leadership Group (RLG) for
Whanau Ora is calling for nominations to appoint a new
community member.
Thirty-four provider collectives involving more than 180 health and social service providers from throughout the country are working to develop and deliver Whanau Ora – an inclusive approach to providing services and opportunities to all New Zealand families in need.
A total of 10 RLGs provide high quality advice to the Whanau Ora Governance Group, lead strategic change for Whanau Ora within their region, foster excellent communications and relationships, and provide representation of Whanau Ora at a local and regional level.
They also have an important role in considering funding proposals to support whanau.
Membership includes between three and seven community representatives who come from diverse backgrounds and have expertise and skills in health and social services as well as whanau and community development.
RLGs also include one representative each from Te Puni Kokiri, the Ministry of Social Development and District Health Boards.
The current community
members of Te Moana a Toi (Bay of Plenty) RLG include Elaine
Tapsell (chair), Maanu Paul, Vervies (Punohu) McCausland and
Te Iria Whiu
The closing date for nominations is 5.00 pm on Friday August 31 2012.
