Plimmer Tce, Shannon, Horowhenua: Fuel Tanker Crash as at 8:30pm
The Police and Fire Service are working along with contractors to safely remove the fuel from the crashed tanker on Plimmer Tce, Shannon.
As at 8:30pm tonight the decanting of the fuel is expected to take between 6 and 8 hours to complete.
The cordons and diversions will stay in place until this has been completed and the scene is clear.
We thank the residences of Shannon for their patience with this incident.
Police ask motorists to avoid Shannon and take other routes until this is cleared up.
