International
spiritual teacher to give free public talk
An
event promoting peace at Christmas will take place in the
heart of the city this December, with renowned Buddhist
teacher Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong visiting Auckland from the UK
to give a free public talk on inner peace.
This free event will be held in the Concert Chamber of the Auckland Town Hall from 7.00pm to 8.30pm on Wednesday 19th of December.
Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT-IKBU) of Buddhism, which has 1100 meditation centres and groups in 40 countries. She is a modern Buddhist nun, dedicated to helping people from all walks of life attain lasting happiness through developing inner peace. Gen-la is loved and respected throughout the world for the sincerity of her practice and the power of her wisdom and compassion.
Teaching for the first time in Auckland, Gen-la will give a talk titled “Inner peace through modern Buddhism,” focusing on the application of ancient Buddhist methods to solve the problems of today's lifestyle. Gen-la will illuminate the teachings, which reveal that the real source of happiness lies within the mind, not external conditions.
Everyone, no matter their age, background or religion, can experience happiness and inner peace through meditation. Today in our modern society, this is needed more than ever before as stress, anxiety and depression continue to increase, causing personal problems, relationship problems, workplace problems and broader social problems.
This is a rare opportunity for the people of Auckland to hear this compassionate and powerful teacher talk.
This event is open to everybody and bookings are not required. Everyone Welcome!
