Public To Have Their Say On Takapuna Plans Next Month
Hearings of submissions on the draft Takapuna Beach Reserve Management Plan will reconvene in open session on Monday, 10 December 2012.
The six-person panel will hear from the remaining three submitters from 9am at the Takapuna Service Centre, 1 The Strand, with members of the public and media invited to attend the proceedings. The panel was not able to fit these three submitters into the three days of hearings in late October.
Panel chair and independent commissioner, Greg Hill, says additional information has been requested from council officers and relates to many of the questions raised by the submitters when they presented to the panel. This information is to be received on, or before, 18 December and it will be available on the council’s website.
“The hearings panel will receive the additional information before reconvening in the New Year to hear from the council officers and to ask any questions of them arising from that information. Once we are satisfied we have sufficient information, we will then be in a position to make our recommendations to the Devonport-Takapuna Local Board,” he says.
Submitters and the public will be informed when the
hearings panel is to reconvene in the New Year.
