Three Kings Mayor in the Chair
Len Brown is looking forward to chatting to Three Kings and Mt Roskill locals on Friday 9 August at one of his Mayor in the Chair sessions.
From midday until 1pm, he is setting up his chairs at the Mt Roskill Library, keen to listen to people who live and work nearby share their aspirations and concerns for their community and wider Auckland.
Mayor in the Chair sessions are regular, one-hour lunchtime events held in different areas around Auckland, when locals can take their turn, pull up a chair and have a brief one-to-one chat with the Mayor about any topic they wish.
“These sessions are a chance for me to listen to different points of view, to offer clarity and explanation about council decisions and activities, and general discussions on how we can improve Auckland together,” says Len Brown.
Len Brown has held the events from Wellsford to Waiuku, Huia to Beachlands and dozens of points in between since becoming Mayor of Auckland, and most recently in Mangere East.
“Auckland is an incredibly diverse place – we have a great diversity of backgrounds, interests and opinions, and these sessions are a great way for me to connect with a wide range of people. I’m really looking forward to being in the vibrant Mt Roskill community.”
The Mayor will be in the Mt Roskill Library, 574 Mt Albert Road, from midday to 1pm on Friday 9 August.
