Assault investigation on homeless man upgraded to
homicide
Auckland City Police have upgraded
their Serious Assault investigation to Homicide, following
the death yesterday (Saturday 3 August) of 42 year-old Edwin
Linder, the homeless man who was admitted to Auckland
Hospital on Wednesday 31st July with facial injuries.
A
17 year-old male was arrested on Friday 3rd August and
charged with wounding Mr Linder in relation to the incident.
He is due to reappear in the Auckland District Court on
Monday 5th August.
Further charges are expected to be
laid following a post mortem examination on Monday.
