Public Support Called for Whale Watch Kaikoura

Public Support Called for Whale Watch Kaikoura

For Immediate release

Whale Watch Kaikoura has been named as a finalist in the People’s Choice for Responsible Tourism at the World Responsible Tourism Awards to be held at the World Travel Market in London on November 6, 2013.

It is the 10th year of the awards and for the first time the public is being asked to vote to decide on who is the best in responsible tourism from around the world.

Votes can be cast at www.responsibletravel.com/awards/categories/peoples-choice.htm where the public can chose from five tourism businesses which have been previous winners and selected by award judges.

All those who vote are entered into a draw to win a seven-night independent walking holiday on the island of Gozo with Headwater.

Whale Watch Kaikoura chief operating office Kauahi Ngapora said the tourism operator was thrilled to be a finalist in the awards.
“To be a finalist against some of the world’s finest sustainable tourism operators is an honour. It is humbling to be recognised for practices that have steered our organisation since its inception.”

In 2009 Whale Watch Kaikoura was named best In a Marine Environment at the Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards, and went on to be named Supreme Winner.

Mr Ngapora said he applauded the introduction of the “people’s choice” approach, and hoped that the many hundreds of thousands of visitors who had experienced the Whale Watch Kaikoura tour since it first launched would take the time to vote and show their support.
