Opaheke double homicide - update
27 August 2013 -
Police investigating the homicide of Trevor Waite and Glenys
Stanton at Ponga Rd, Opaheke are working to piece together
the details of their relationship.
It is believed that the
pair met through an outdoor enthusiasts website, with a
shared interest in hiking and mountain biking. Police are
still trying to establish when this was.
Forensic work is
continuing at the scene, with the pond at the front of the
home to be drained today in a search for evidence. Police
are also beginning the process of interviewing friends,
family and associates of the victims.
Post mortems on both
deceased are being conducted today.
Police are working
with both of the deceased families and at least one of the
families will be reading a statement for media this
afternoon at Counties Manukau Police Station at
4:00pm.
