Serious Crash In Arthurs Pass
At around 6.00 am today
police were advised of a serious crash on the West Coast
Road, SH 73, between Cass and Bealey Spur. A single vehicle
has left the road and gone down a bank coming to rest on
railway tracks below.
Emergency services are currently at
the scene, There were six people in the vehicle. There is
no report on their condition at this time.
Trains in the
area have been stopped and the state highway is currently
closed. Motorists using the Arthurs Pass highway can expect
delays. There are no available detours for this
area.
