Secondary Crash In Waikato

Secondary Crash In Waikato

A more serious secondary crash has occurred on the Fisher Road diversion from the earlier-reported crash. This second crash is believed to involve a
mini van and a bus.

A woman who was initially trapped is being treated at the scene for serious
injuries and a helicopter is en route to transport her to hospital. Two
other people are reported to have sustained moderate injuries and are
awaiting ambulances.

Serious Crash staff are attending.

The crash has effectively stopped all SH1 traffic which is now backed up for an estimated 14kms.

The original crash site on SH1 has been cleared and is being reopened now (1105hrs) however the backlog will take some time to clear.

Once again police ask motorists to remain patient and take care as traffic clears.
