Reward deadline passes but enquiries ongoing

"Police News Alert Issued *** 2.35pm, February 3rd (Monday) ***"
The offer of a reward of up to $50,000 hasn’t led Police to locate missing Luana Williams, but enquiries into her disappearance in Tauranga nearly 28 years ago are still continuing.

The reward was initiated in November for material information or evidence which established her location and/or led to the conviction of any person or persons responsible for her disappearance or death. The deadline attached to the reward has now expired.

Detective Inspector Mark Loper said: “We did receive a number of calls during that reward period and as a result of those calls and a number of enquiries we have identified some useful information. The reward phase did not result in any additional persons of interest being identified over and above those already within the investigation."
