Record Numbers Expected for Wellington's Largest Fun Run as Event Sells Out for Third Consecutive Year
With just days till the big day, AMI Round the Bays has sold out for the third year in a row. Despite this years extended capacity, the event reached its limit of 14,000 public entries today.
Team registrations for AMI Round the Bays closed January 31st and with over 500 teams on board there will be a “real buzz among groups lining up for the starter’s gun” says Event director James King.
“Interest in this year’s event has been
overwhelming” King adds, “we encourage those who missed
out on entering to still come along and cheer others on, or
make your way to Kilbirnie Park for the post-
race
festivities.”
Participants will be met by the ‘ZM Pit Stop’, the ‘Kio Bay Fun Zone’ and the ‘Les Mills Cheer Squad’ as they make their way around Wellington’s beautiful inner bays as well as activities, entertainment, food and BBQ sites after they cross the finish line at Kilbirnie Park. 9-piece hip hop, soul and funk fusion group Brockaflower have been confirmed as the premier entertainment at the Kilbirnie Park festival. The Wellington locals will be joined by another local talent Drax Project to keep the party going after the finish line.
Limited charity entries are available from the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, New Zealand’s leading medical research facility, details available at amiroundthebays.co.nz.
