Police seek assistance to identify deceased man

Cap similar to that worn by the deceased man

Rotorua Police are appealing for information to assist with identifying a man found deceased in the Linton Park reserve area on Monday, 5 May, 2014.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, but despite numerous enquiries police have been unable to establish who the man is.

Detective Sergeant Tony Colby said: “We fully appreciate the sensitivity of this matter and making a public appeal of this nature is not a decision we take lightly; we only take this step when we have exhausted all other avenues. It is important to us that we do everything possible to return this man to his family.”

The man is described as:

• Maori or Polynesian
• Age is unclear; possible in his 20s
• 180cm tall
• solid build
• short black hair
• short facial hair
• khaki 'Dickies' shorts and shirt
• red 'Nike' shoes
• blue 'Bulldogs' cap

If you know who this man might be or have any information that might assist, contact Rotorua Police on 07 348 0099.
