Cell phone may be crucial to missing man's whereabouts

The team investigating the disappearance of Opunake man Aaron Roigard are seeking the whereabouts of his cell phone in the hope that it may lead to locating him.

It is believed Aaron had his cell phone on him when he was last seen but its current whereabouts are unknown.

It is described as a Samsung flip top cell phone encased in a black leather pouch.

Detective Senior Sergeant Blair Burnett says: "We want to locate Aaron's phone as it could provide us with avenues of inquiry that ultimately could lead us to Aaron. We remain focused and determined in locating Aaron and returning him to his family."

The investigation team are continuing with their inquiries, completing area canvasses and are building a picture of the circumstances leading up to Aaron's disappearance.

"We are still seeking any information or sightings of the green/blue Holden Commodore motor vehicle and of Aaron since he went missing on Monday the 2nd June, 2014," says Detective Senior Sergeant Burnett.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Chris Allemann (06) 213 9536. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
