Auckland Overground Provides Solution to City’s Transport Woes

Construction of the test site for the $1.4 Billion Auckland Overground Public Transport System will be completed on July 24th 2014.

Plans for the Auckland Overground have been underway for the past 18 months; once completed these major works will mean the commuters of Auckland can go further, faster, more often.

The Auckland Overground is a modern solution that will keep the city moving onwards and upwards, and is a significant step forward for the city’s transportation network.

According to the latest Auckland Transport Statistics Report (Sept 2014) monthly patronage of all forms of public transport within the greater Auckland city region, amounted to nearly six million boardings, an increase of over 100,000 annually.

The Auckland Overground will work to address this strain, and accommodate an increasing demand for a more efficient and affordable public transport service.

On July 24, at the opening of the Queen Street AOG Exchange test site, Auckland will be at the forefront of transport solutions, as we move into a new New Zealand.
