9 August 2014

Registrations for the fringe Fringe Festival 2014 are trickling in with 10 received or notified, but more are sought, says Fringe's El Pancho, Sam Fisher of the Fab Four Collective.

"We've got some awesome acts, dance, theatre and poetry and we will reveal all in early September when we announce the programme. We've now set the end of August for registrations. What we would like is more applications!

"What we can say is we're very excited by a few of the offerings, and one is Two Sisters. They describe it an hilarious black comedy about human nature and the essence of betrayal, written by renowned contemporary Colombian playwright Fabio Rubiano. Performed by the incredibly talented Ukrainian Nataliya Oryshchuk and Colombian actress Natascha Diaz. We'll profile another one from a theatre group next week.

ffestival Conchita; Christy Ballantyne is urging more youth applications. Her background in child and youth coordination will help the ffringe appraoch and encourage more youth events she says.

Registation cost only $20 and a venue is available for events. For acts organised by teams all under 20 registrations are free.

The festival is scheduled to run from October 13-31 this year.
