Motor vehicle crash near Rolleston

Emergency services are attending a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Weedons Ross Road and Maddisons Road near Rolleston involving two vehicles, one trailing a horse float.

Diversions are currently in place and Police ask that the public avoid the area for the next couple of hours.

One person is reported to be in a critical condition and another is seriously injured. There are currently no other injuries reported and the horse also appears to be uninjured.

Canterbury's Serious Crash Unit are attending the scene and investigations are continuing into the cause of the crash.

A further update will be released later today.
