Fatal Fire in Springdale

The body of a woman has been found inside a burning house on Number 1 Road in Springdale, Waikato this afternoon.

The body was discovered shortly after Fire Services arrived at the address and extinguished the flames after responding to a call about a house on fire just before noon.

Police and ambulance services also attended the scene and the area has been cordoned off as a scene investigation is carried out by Fire staff and Police.

The scene will be guarded overnight and the scene examination will recommence tomorrow morning.

There is no further information available at this time.
