Police name cyclist involved in fatal crash

Christchurch Police have released the name of the cyclist involved in Monday’s fatal crash on Waterloo Road.

He was 33 year old Ming-Chih HSIEH, an overseas tourist.

The death has been referred to the coroner. The victim’s family have travelled to New Zealand and have asked for privacy at this time of extreme grief and will not be making any statements to media regarding their loss.

Police investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

Victim support has been offered to the family of the 33 year old cyclist and the 50 year old truck driver.
