Dangerous offender arrested - Mt Roskill - National Alerts

Good Samaritan tackles violent offender for police Auckland police have charged an Auckland Man with a number of violent offences relating to numerous victims across Auckland. On the 26th December 2014, police commenced an investigation in relation to a domestic violence related, Kidnapping. Auckland City Detective's in covert role, sat in wait for the offender in Stoddard Road, Mt Roskill. The offender was located and ran from police who gave chase.

A Polynesian man wearing no shoes observing the incident joined the foot chase.

He tackled the offender bringing him to the ground, allowing police to handcuff him and take him into custody without further incident. The offender is facing a number of serious violent charges in relation to multiple victims over a period of time.

He is currently charged with Kidnapping, Assault, Wounding, injuring with intent involving three separate female victims.

He will shortly be interviewed in relation to other serious crimes unrelated to these victims. Injuries to the victims (Charges currently before the court) range from broken jaw to less serious injuries. Police recognise the trauma and distress that this one individual has allegedly inflicted on these victims and are working with partner agencies and support services to support them through their recovery.

We encourage any victims suffering violence or threats to immediately call police or tell someone so that they can receive help. Metro Auckland Police Commander, Inspector Watson said "This offender is now in custody due to the selfless action of our good Samaritan.

When attending police tried to thank him and gain his details for formal recognition he declined and returned to shopping with his family.

He left with a handshake.
