Firearms incident - Waikanae - Wellington
At approximately 12:30am this morning, Police were called to an address at the South end of Queens Rd in Waikanae.
A person was reported to have been injured as a result of a firearms incident. It is believed there was an altercation at the address when a firearm was discharged. A male at the address suffered moderate gunshot injuries to his left leg, which are not life threatening.
There were no other people injured as a result of this incident. Two people who were located a short distance away from the scene and are assisting Police in this matter. Further inquiries are underway to establish what has occurred this evening and the address will undergo a scene examination later today.
