Baby airlifted to hospital with head injury

Wellington CIB are investigating how a 6 month old child has received a serious head injury.

Ambulance service were called to the Kapiti address at about 4.30pm on 6 July 2015, and the child was subsequently airlifted to Wellington hospital for treatment. Officer in charge, Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Ferguson said, "This little 6 month old girl has received a severe injury to her head.

We are in the process of unraveling the circumstances that have led to this injury occurring." Police have been speaking with family members of the child, who had contact with the child yesterday. A Waikanae and Raumati Beach address are the subject of scene examinations.
