Aggravated Robbery, Raleigh Street Dairy, Waitara 24 July 2015

At about 8.15pm on Friday 24 July 2015 the dairy on Raleigh Street Waitara was the subject of an aggravated robbery.

3 offenders have entered, one carrying a knife. The two victims are an older couple who own the dairy and were on their own at the time. They were assaulted, knocked to the ground and subjected to unprovoked violence resulting in them being taken to hospital by ambulance. They were treated and discharged and have been referred to victim support. The victims were extremely traumatised by what happened.

Enquiries are continuing to establish what if anything was stolen, however at this stage it would appear minimal items if any were taken.

Police have conducted an examination of the scene and are continuing enquiries. We are appealing for anyone who has information about this or who was in the area at the time to contact us.
