An incident occurred in Shirley, Christchurch.
Detective Senior Sergeant Anderson has said:
“The Canterbury CIB is currently investigating an incident that occurred overnight in Ajax Street, Shirley and at another related address in Bowenvale Avenue, Cashmere. Both addresses are currently being searched by police. A number of people have been arrested in relation to the incident and will be appearing in court tomorrow. The police Armed Offenders Squad was used to secure both addresses but there is no ongoing danger to the public. No further information can be released at this stage but we are hoping to be in a position to provide more information in a further media release later in the afternoon.”
