Motorists advised to avoid Johnsonville Road in Wellington
Motorists advised to avoid Johnsonville Road in Wellington this evening - the traffic lights at the Broderick Road intersection are 'flashing amber'
Motorists are asked to avoid Johnsonville Road – the main route through Johnsonville - if possible this evening and take alternative routes.
There has been a technical malfunction at the busy Broderick Road intersection – and the traffic lights will be ‘flashing amber’ until about 9pm tonight at the earliest.
The traffic light malfunction is highly likely to cause major traffic congestion. Motorists are asked to take care and observe the give-way laws through the intersection.
Preferably, motorists should take alternative routes – including using the Churton Park turnoff on the Porirua motorway, or using the Ngaio Gorge and the ‘back route’ through Khandallah.
